Role Overview

In this role, you will be a part of the Pipeline Engineering team of the Energy Services division, based in the Houston Office. You will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of renewable, natural gas, or oil projects.

Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering design work as the everyday task.
  • Have oil and gas project experience and understand CFR Parts 192 and 195.
  • Resolve issues with limited oversight.
  • Design foundations, supports, perform load calculations, complete concrete and rebar strength calculations and design, perform stormwater calculations, and prepare SWPPPs.
  • Understand CAD and GIS applications to assist in completing work deliverables.
  • Coordinate with additional staff to complete tasks and finalize deliverables.
  • Provide direction to drafting designers to complete design drawings including site plan, grading plans, foundation, pipe supports, etc., without management oversight.
  • Provide direction to complete data analysis, drawing, and mapping assignments without management oversight.
  • Interact with various personnel, clients, and stakeholders during assigned projects.
  • Be organized and understand ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements; follow, read, understand, and comply with procedures for reviewing, documenting, validating, monitoring, and improving.
  • Assist with proposal writing, understand scope development, and prepare execution plans.
  • Have the ability to travel for field exercises, reconnaissance, field truthing, verification, surveys, etc., as projects dictate.
  • Be willing to learn new engineering fields of study and technologies and support other professional disciplines to build on your current experience level and increase the engineering team’s knowledge base and productivity.
  • Understand safe work practices, support project‑specific safety plans, and be willing to participate in workplace safety initiatives and culture.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working for natural gas or liquid pipeline operators or engineering consultants.
  • Project experience including pipelines and pipeline facilities (valves, traps, meters, etc.).
  • Actual experience preparing site plan, grading plans, foundation, pipe supports, etc.
  • Actual design experience, completing design calculations, reviewing and understanding specifications and code, providing oversight for the preparation of design drawings, and reviewing and approving them.
  • Registered Engineer (E.I.T.) mandatory and Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience.
