Position Overview:
Design engineering at Kiewit involves creating innovative, world‑class building projects across North America. The role offers on‑the‑job training, responsibility from day one and opportunities to shape professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Draft sketches, piping and instrument diagrams, or model 3D equipment items for power plant systems, including steam cycle systems, boiler feed and condensate, water treatment, fuel handling, hydraulic, heat transfer systems, conveying systems, and air and gas systems.
- Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes, contract requirements, and company standards.
- Adhere to schedules and work assignments to ensure successful project completion.
- Coordinate with other drafters, designers and team members and support work progress and results.
- Train and advise interns or new graduates.
Qualifications:
- At least 3‑10 years of related design experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Drafting and Design or related discipline.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, web browsing and e‑mail programs.
- Knowledge of drafting software including Micro Station, Autodesk, Smart Plant.

- Perform work safely and effectively. Follow oral and written instructions, warning signs, equipment use and policies.
- Work normal operating hours; overtime and weekends as required.

Base Compensation: $152,000/yr – $159,000/yr
