Join our dynamic team as a Structural Dynamics Engineer and become a vital contributor to support NASA as an Oceaneering Teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Structural Loads and Dynamics section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.

Someone in this role would typically have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. This position can be hired at any level in our professional career framework, depending on business need at the time of hire.

International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of telework per week may be available.

Duties And Responsibilities

Some of your major responsibilities will include:

* This position will be performing structural dynamic analysis on spacecraft and lunar vehicles in multiple NASA human spaceflight programs. This includes Orion, Gateway, Human Landing System, Commercial Crew Program, Lunar Terrain Vehicle, Pressurized Rover, and others.

* Perform finite element model checks, dynamic model reductions, coupled loads analysis, and interpret results.

* Perform dynamic analyses using commercial and in-house codes, write new simulation scripts and code, typically with Python, as needed.

* Perform vibroacoustic analysis on finite element models in preparation for acoustic and random vibration tests .

* Perform modal analysis on finite element models in preparation for modal tests.

* Identify critical modes for a component or integrated system.

* Review and process modal and structural data (analytical and test).

* Develop and/or review test plans and procedures, documenting test results.

* Perform signal processing on analytical and/or test data.

* Perform model correlation by adjusting analytical models based on test data to better align the model with actual hardware.

* Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

* A BS Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school.

* Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.

* Experience with desktop software applications, MS Office is required.

* Experience in finite element model manipulation and coupled loads analysis.

* Experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++.

PREFERRED:

* BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
