Overview

We are seeking an Aviation Project Manager - Hybrid to join our team in Houston, TX
. The Project Manager will provide the expertise of a seasoned aviation technical expert to all conventional aspects of functional areas of airports and apply advanced concepts and techniques to unconventional engineering problems. You may function as an individual researcher or technical specialist on airfield design or construction projects that may include runway, taxiway, apron, hangars, approach evaluations, utility improvements, and many other airport‑related development projects.

You will uphold engineering ethics and standards of conduct.

Your Role
  • Responsible for the financial health of projects, quality control, and all aspects of project execution.
  • Interface with clients and regulatory agencies independently, representing Atkins

    Réalis’ multidisciplinary capabilities to airport clients, assisting in development and execution of airport capital improvement program projects, from conceptual planning to grant application support, preliminary and final design, bidding plans, specifications, construction administration, and overseeing inspection and quality assurance testing.
  • Perform airfield or landside project design oversight, review sketches and design concepts developed by engineers, sub‑consultants, CAD designers or technicians.
  • Plan and review the production of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Plan and review the production of engineering investigations or planning work.
  • Review and evaluate developed plans and criteria for new projects, weigh alternatives, and select the most cost‑effective solution.
  • Analyze technical problems, assess feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devise new approaches and alternative solutions.
  • Analyze project scope and prepare or oversee cost, manpower, schedule, and budget estimates.
  • Coordinate work with lead technical engineers, mentor junior professionals and technical personnel on design and drafting of preliminary and final plans.
  • Occasionally travel to project locations in and out of the United States.
  • Perform additional duties as the supervisor may deem necessary.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Houston office aviation clients on project grant requests, inspections, and construction administration services.
About You
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant aviation‑related civil engineering or project management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required; knowledge of or experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Proven technical writing and communication skills.
  • P.E. license required.

Expected compensation range is between $115,000 – $145,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
