What

is the role about?

Vector Controls, a company of the Endress+Hauser Group, is seeking an Instrumentation / Calibration Technician to perform service-related work in the Houston, TX area. The candidate will be required to provide installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of instrumentation, controls, and analyzers. There will also be interaction with the customer on many levels (i.e. operations, maintenance, planning, environmental health & safety, and engineering).

The ideal candidate will provide expertise to ensure that the products perform and meet customer expectations. The candidate will also be required to follow all customer and Vector Controls safety policies and procedures.

Which tasks will you perform?
  • Start-Up and Commissioning and Trouble Shooting of Instrumentation
  • Travel to Locations within the Entire Vector Coverage Area. Areas include Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois.
  • Maintain open communication with customer.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with all Vector CAG and customer site-specific training.
  • Complete all scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) work orders as scheduled.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to customer for any Flow, Pressure, Temp, Valves.
What do we expect from you?

You will have (required):

  • Knowledge of Process instrumentation such as Coriolis, Magmeter, Vortex, Pressure, RTD's, Thermocouples, Radar Level.
  • Knowledge of electronics, process diagrams (loop and data sheets), and test equipment (multi-meters, loop calibrators, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Valves and Instrumentation. Analytical, pneumatic, electronic, and smart.
  • Min 5 years Plant Maintenance or on Demand Field Service Experience
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight
  • Ability to rotate "On-Call" responsibilities
  • Multiple Overnights Trips required a Month. Travel up to 70%. Operate a program that focuses on personal and process safety (Zero accidents, releases, or process downtime).

You may have (preferred):

  • Associates degree in Instrumentation Technology or a technical degree with at least 5+ years in process instrumentation equipment installation maintenance/troubleshooting (preferred)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills (i.e. MS Office Suite)
