Overview
To provide technical support for rotating equipment with an immediate focus on gas and steam turbines for power generation. Additional support to be provided for projects with Ammonia, Syngas, Hydrogen, CO2 pumping and compression in large scale plant operations.
Minimum requirementsEducation:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of ten (10) years direct work experience with rotating equipment design and maintenance, and operations in large plant facilities.
- Proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience and knowledge with combined-cycle power plant design.
- Experience and knowledge with compressor and pump station design.
- Experience and knowledge with pump station design especially in PSM facilities
- Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
- Proficiency in basic engineering skills.
- Familiarity and ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs).
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
- Ability to successfully organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
- Specification, evaluation, and selection of new plant machinery for large capital projects
- Development of mechanical procedures, engineering standards, and equipment specifications
- Develop and track life cycle costs for rotating equipment repairs and replacements
- Conduct Root-Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) / incident investigations using various methodologies
- Develop Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) / Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) as part of large capital projects
- Develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for machinery
- Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) bid documents, conduct bid process and prepare detailed bid analysis especially as it pertains to rotating equipment in large plant facility applications
- Specify any ancillary compression or liquid pumping equipment based on provided operating conditions
- Act as a mentor to less experienced technical professionals to develop overall Tallgrass engineering and project execution capabilities
- Provide technical expertise to support various customers
- Work with suppliers to solve technical problems with rotating equipment
- Develop and/or update Company Equipment Specifications and Engineering Standards
- Effectively prioritize, plan, schedule, manage and report on multiple projects
- Review and manage projects in terms of economics, OSHA Safety, Engineering Standards, Construction Standards and Operating & Maintenance Procedures
- Develop project scope documents, schedules, costs estimates and budget forecasts as required with minimal direction from supervisor
- Provide engineering support to field operations as necessary
- Collaborate with a variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public
