Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support a major construction program based in Pasadena, Houston for a Chemical Manufacturing company. This role will sit within a high-pressure EPC delivery environment and requires strong hands-on experience managing construction schedules and stage-gate (Gateway) processes.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring schedule integrity, progress visibility, and alignment between engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and control integrated construction schedules using Primavera P6 (or equivalent)
- Manage Gateway / stage-gate schedules
, ensuring readiness for key decision milestones - Interface closely with EPC contractors
, construction managers, and project controls teams - Perform schedule logic reviews, critical path analysis, and progress measurement
- Assess schedule risk, identify slippage, and support recovery planning
- Provide clear, concise schedule reporting to senior project stakeholders
- Support change management and schedule impact analysis for variations and claims
- Ensure schedules align with construction sequencing, procurement lead times, and site constraints
- Proven experience as a Scheduler on construction projects (industrial, chemical, energy, or heavy industry preferred)
- Strong background working with EPC contractors
- Demonstrable experience with Gateway / stage-gate project processes
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, work packaging, and progress measurement
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, site-based environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience on large-scale industrial or chemical plant projects
- Previous site-based scheduling roles in the Houston / Gulf Coast region
- Exposure to schedule risk analysis and mitigation strategies
- High-impact project with real construction delivery exposure
