Job Summary
A Contract Conformance Specialist is needed for a company that transports, distributes and generates energy, with diversified assets that include a balance between crude oil and natural gas in the Houston, TX area. This role manages the full lifecycle of contract administration and conformance for major capital projects, ensuring technical, financial, and legal compliance through rigorous documentation, negotiation, and change management.

Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end sourcing, administration, and conformance activities for capital project contracts.
- Facilitate the flow of documentation and communication between the company and contractors to ensure all obligations are met.
- Coordinate the development of contract exhibits, including technical scope, specifications, pricing, and special instructions.
- Lead contract negotiations with potential proponents during the bidding and formation phases.
- Review contractor documents and invoices for strict compliance with contract terms and baselines.
- Manage the change order process, including logs, directives, and necessary approvals.
- Resolve contractual issues, claims, and disputes in collaboration with legal and project management teams.
- Maintain comprehensive correspondence logs and document control systems for all contractual records.
- Facilitate training for team members and third parties regarding contract conformance and procedures.
- Oversee the close-out of project contracts and ensure files are archived according to company retention policies.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
- Demonstrated excellent human relations, influence, and listening skills to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with other departments to achieve goals.
- Familiarity with best management practices for contracting.
- Ability to support the negotiation of complex contracting issues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and to perform work with a reasonable level of supervision.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work in a timely manner.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, construction, legal, technical or business discipline with some experience in legal, engineering, construction, and/or contract administration or contract conformance of construction related projects, preferably in the gas pipeline industry or
- Associates degree
- With a minimum 10 years of experience in legal, engineering,construction, and/or contract administration or contract conformance of construction related projects, preferably in the gas pipeline industry.
