A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager to join its Houston-area team. This position will lead hydrologic and hydraulic engineering projects for municipal, state, federal, and other public-sector clients while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in hydrology and hydraulics along with proven project management and client-facing experience.
Responsibilities- Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design projects
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Perform and oversee H&H modeling and design
- Utilize HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS for hydraulic and hydrologic analysis
- Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, and internal design teams
- Oversee plan production and prepare cost estimates
- Support marketing, proposal development, and business development efforts
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 7+ years of relevant consulting and design experience
- 2+ years of engineering project management experience
- Advanced knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design
- Strong HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS experience
- Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling preferred
- GIS experience applied to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Strong communication and client-management skills
- Consulting experience focused primarily on hydrology and hydraulics
