Job Overview:
The role is for Senior Structural Engineer with responsibility for structural design and analysis for Onshore Oil & Gas, LNG, and Renewables Industry projects including deliverables such as structures, piperacks, modules, foundations, etc.  The work includes conceptual studies, FEEDs, estimates, detail design, and construction support.  The successful candidate is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts and can be assigned as the civil / structural lead on a project.

Qualifications Essential Qualifications and

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering8-15 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design

Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society as applicable  Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications

Good knowledge of engineering software

Able to work independently

Good working knowledge of English, both oral and writtenHSE, TQM, and cost-conscious

Good technical structural knowledge

Good organizer, motivator, and supervisor

Keen on improving the effectiveness of the work

Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:

The reassignment to other departments/construction sites/fabrication yards

The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays

The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads (also other projects) when possible/desirable

The managing/learning of current working methods and software applications

Strong working knowledge of many design techniques and analysis methods, and detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards codes and guidelines as applicableBS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university

Registered Professional Engineer Minimum 8 years civil / structural engineering experience

Minimum 4 years civil / structural engineering experience in the oil & gas industry

Knowledge of civil / structural engineering codes and standards

Proficient in detail civil / structural engineering and design work procedures and processes

Proficient in civil / structural analysis software

Strong communication skills and professional ethics to interface with clients and project team

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Capable of leading a civil / structural project team Prepare philosophies, basis of design, and specifications

Interface with geotechnical engineers and implement geotechnical recommendations

Provide input in support of permitting efforts

Prepare material requisition and subcontract scope of work Perform technical bid evaluation and supplier document review

Provide engineering manhour and quantity estimates

Coordinate with supporting offices

Prepare and check calculations

Identify potential changes, and track engineering quantities against budget

Provide schedule and progress updates

Support construction

Mentor junior engineers BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
