Aerodynamics Lead

Salary: $150K-$200K

Downtown Austin, TX 78701 (Open to fully remote as well)

Travel: up to 25%

A well-funded, fast-growing technology company is building a new aircraft from concept through first flight, with a path to production and certification. They’re looking for an Aerodynamics Lead to own the aerodynamic analysis and design and be the voice of authority on all aero decisions.

• Build the full vehicle aerodynamic model and simplified models for design optimization
• Plan and run test campaigns, and correlate test and flight data back to the models
• Work with the design and propulsion teams on aerodynamic trades
• Provide aero inputs to the simulation and flight dynamics teams
• Help build out the aerodynamics team

• BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering field (MS preferred)
• 5+ years of hands-on aerodynamics experience on a flying vehicle program
• Strong CFD skills and test campaign experience
• Ability to work cross-functionally and make trade-off calls under schedule pressure
• Rotorcraft or launch vehicle experience is a plus
