Job DescriptionThe QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing the Quality Management System (QMS) for the turnkey delivery of two fully operational 21,000-ton central chiller plants. This role ensures that all engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with contract documents, applicable codes and standards, manufacturer requirements, and best industry practices.
Duties & Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP) for the turnkey chiller plant installation
- Establish quality procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), checklists, and acceptance criteria for all project phases
- Review design documents for compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards
- Review and approve vendor submittals, shop drawings, and factory documentation for compliance
- Coordinate and witness Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for major equipment
- Oversee quality control inspections for mechanical, electrical, structural, piping, and controls installation
- Identify, document, and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate corrective actions
- Ensure delivery of comprehensive as-built documentation, O&M manuals, warranties, and commissioning reports
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in QA/QC for large-scale mechanical or industrial projects
- Demonstrated experience with central utility plants or large chiller plants (10,000+ tons)
- Proven background supporting turnkey EPC or design-build projects
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, pumping systems, and BAS controls
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, AHRI, ASME, NEC, NFPA, OSHA)
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or ASHRAE CPMP preferred
