Overview
:
Burrow Global is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior I&E Designer for a long term assignment with an Oil and Gas company located in downtown Houston As a Junior I&E Designer, you will operate under detailed instructions and review, providing essential technical knowledge and performing tasks to support the automation division of this organization. This early career role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the development and execution of I&E (Instrument and Electrical) designs.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Assist in the preparation of 2D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings using AutoCAD and Cad Worx, including instrument location plans, isometrics, and sketches.
- Candidates will be creating and updating loop drawings and confirming loop check details.
- Learn to analyze and make recommendations regarding solutions to complex problems based on project objectives and guidelines.
- Develop and review design specifications, including design criteria, under supervision.
- Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements and assist in resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with the development and checking of drawings, including instrument index and location plans.
- Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
- Gain exposure to different areas of the I&E design process and develop a strong understanding of technical design principles.
- Walkdown experience is desired.
Basic Job Requirements
:
- 3-5 years of I&E drafting / design experience using AutoCAD and Cad Worx
- Fast and accurate drafting skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, supervisors, and clients.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a time-conscious and efficient manner.
Preferred Qualifications
:
- Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in a technical field of study.
- Intermediate knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, Cad Worx).
- Familiarity with fieldwork and practical design experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office including word processing, e‑mail, spreadsheets, and presentation programs.
