I am working with an established civil engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Civil CAD Designer to its Houston operation.
This position will involve producing detailed engineering drawings for Land Development, Public Works or Facilities projects while working closely with civil engineers and project managers.
Salary: $65,000-$100,000, depending on experience
Job Specifications:- Create and modify detailed civil engineering drawings and three-dimensional models
- Prepare grading, drainage, paving, utility and site development plans
- Translate engineering concepts and calculations into accurate construction documents
- Develop surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors and pipe networks
- Work closely with engineers and project managers throughout project delivery
- Complete drawing revisions following engineering and client reviews
- Assist with coordinating projects from initial concept through completion
- Maintain organized drawing files and supporting project documentation
- Ensure plans comply with applicable design standards and project requirements
- Previous CAD design experience within civil engineering
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Experience supporting Land Development, Public Works or Facilities projects
- Understanding of civil engineering plans and construction documents
- Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy
- Ability to manage several assignments and meet project deadlines
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- An associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology or a related discipline would be beneficial
- Houston-area project experience would be advantageous
