Overview
The Property Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance by managing journal entries, reconciliations, and budget support for a property portfolio. This role requires analytical skills, GAAP knowledge, and the ability to partner with property managers and auditors to deliver timely, high-quality reporting.

Salary:

- Compile and analyze financial data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Review and reconcile budgets, revenues, expenses, payroll entries, and invoices.
- Perform bank reconciliations, wire transfers, and ensure timely mortgage payments and distributions.
- Support property acquisitions, dispositions, closings, and funding transactions.
- Partner with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and explanations.
- Communicate with property managers to support pre-close and close activities.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure control.
- Complete ad hoc reports and financial analyses as requested.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience with strong GAAP knowledge.
- Proficiency in accounting and property management systems (Yardi, One Site, etc.).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and database management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Self-directed, motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
