The candidate will apply their knowledge of accounting principles to ensure each construction project’s financial status and the overall company’s financial status is healthy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or relevant field
• CPA preferred
• Three to five years of relevant experience in manufacturing or construction accounting
• Excellent knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures
• Solid analytical and mathematical skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment

Accounting Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers and Principals to develop a detailed and cost effective budget for each Project
• Perform accounting duties throughout the duration of each project
• Preparing client payapps with Project Manager, submit and record receipt of payments
• Receiving invoices from subcontractors and vendors and reviewing with Project Manager, preparing and issuing payments
• Approving purchase orders
• Keep record of all project finances and collaborate with external Accounting Company as needed to close books for tax purposes
• Prepare cost analyses by interpreting projects’ financial data and information and presenting to Principals
• Generate recurring financials reports per Company and per Project as required by Principals such as but not limited to
• Project P&Ls reports
• Cash flow reports
• Analyze and report overhead costs on monthly basis
• Overall company financial reports such as AR and AP
• Continuously review financial reporting processes and implement best practices based on input from principals and new principles by keeping abreast with both construction and accounting industry
• Prepare monthly and quarterly budget forecasts based on current, future and potential future projects through current accounting software
• Setup and maintain payroll for employees including processing of W2s
• Process bi monthly direct deposits
• Issue payments to 1099 Independent Contractors and issue 1099s
• Develop and customize financial reports in project management software to analyze savings and loss in each project’s cost code based on input from project manager and principals
• Ensure resource allocation to distribute overhead to all projects is done
• Plan for and assist external tax preparer file company taxes per IRS guidelines
• Maintain company and project insurance policies
• Enter all field company credit card expenses into correct cost code for each project
• Enter all company overhead/admin credit card expenses into correct cost code
• Perform bank account and credit card account reconciliations
