* Job Summary:

** Experienced accountant to perform trading desk accounting processes, monthly close, and financial reporting.  The successful candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset, strong analytical skills, and proven accounting ability.  Role will report directly to the Accounting Manager in Houston, Texas.
** Profile
* ** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
* Strong working knowledge of financial accounting
* Understanding of commodity trading business
* Self-motivated, results oriented, and strong problem-solving skills
* Strong technical skills with proficiency in Excel
* Ability to independently research and analyse; discuss conclusions with senior management
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Team oriented with willingness to train colleagues

* Duties and Responsibilities:

*** Perform monthly economic to accounting Profit & Loss statement reconciliations
* Account for commodity trading transactions (purchases, sales, costs).
* Validate AR/AP balances for assigned Trade desks/commodities
* Ensure accuracy and consistency with Trading system data
* Liase with Front/Middle Office and Operations to ensure accuracy, and consistency of reported figures
* Review balance sheet, cash movements, and working capital for assigned desks
* Quarterly / Year-end  + Participate in Quarter End reporting activities  + Compile pertinent data for management reporting and financial statements  + Participate in Year End audit and financial statement preparation, as needed
