EOG Resources is seeking a Senior Natural Gas Trader to help optimize and market our growing natural gas portfolio. This role is ideal for a commercially minded, analytically strong trader with diligent attention to detail and who thrives in a collaborative, operations-connected environment. You will originate and execute physical gas transactions, manage exposures, and work closely with scheduling, operations, midstream partners, and leadership to maximize value for EOG's upstream assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, and execute natural gas transactions across daily, monthly, and term horizons.
  • Develop market views, identify commercial opportunities, and manage positions within EOG's risk framework.
  • Coordinate nominations, transport, and flow optimization with midstream and operations teams.
  • Maintain strong commercial relationships with counter parties, pipelines, producers, utilities, and marketers.
  • Build valuation models, perform scenario analysis, and prepare reporting & presentations for management and risk oversight.
  • Uphold strict compliance, credit, and operational controls.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5-7+ years of natural gas trading, origination, or scheduling experience.
  • Strong understanding of North American pipeline systems, basis markets, tariffs, storage, nominations, and physical logistics.
  • Demonstrated analytical capability and disciplined risk management.
  • Experience with trading/scheduling platforms (e.g. Allegro, Endur) and advanced Excel modeling.

Preferred

  • Existing industry relationships and a track record of contributing to a physical or physical-adjacent book.
  • Experience trading U.S. Gulf Coast, Louisiana, and/or Northeast markets.
  • Familiarity with NYMEX and OTC derivatives.
  • Advanced degree or relevant energy-market certifications.
  • Experience compiling Power Point presentations and ability to clearly and concisely present to executive management & other stakeholders
