Senior Executive Underwriter, Public Company Executive Liability
Join The Hartford as a Senior Executive Underwriter in the Executive Liability team. This role focuses on managing public company D&O underwriting, including Directors’ & Officers’ Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability and Fidelity coverage lines.
OverviewThe Senior Executive Underwriter will underwrite and actively pursue new business, manage an existing book of renewal business and serve the needs of distribution partners on an account‑by‐account basis. The position reports to the Central Region Managing Director of the Executive Liability Team. The role is based in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX with a hybrid schedule, working in the office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Key Responsibilities- Underwrite new business and renewals for public company accounts.
- Collaborate with underwriters, leaders and partners to develop and maintain relationships.
- Provide coverage solutions for Management Liability and Fidelity products.
- Participate in strategy and decision‑making with key stakeholders.
- Manage the book of business and support distribution partners.

- 5+ years of public company D&O underwriting experience preferred.

- Valid driver’s license; company pool car may be provided.
Hybrid schedule. Expect to work in the Chicago, IL or Houston, TX office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
CompensationThe annualized base pay range is $128,000 – $204,000. Actual pay may vary based on performance, proficiency and demonstrated competencies. Other compensation may include tips and bonuses, long‑term incentives and on‑the‑spot recognition.
