Job Description & How to Apply Below
Finatal is partnering with a leading private equity fund to appoint a new CFO to a new portfolio company, a multi-site services platform across the Southern U.S.
The business has a strong growth strategy – through both organic and M&A – targeting 3x growth over the next 3-5 years. The CFO will stand up the financial infrastructure, systems, and team required to scale the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and PE sponsor on capital allocation, growth planning, and value creation initiatives.
- Lead the full acquisition lifecycle, from sourcing and assessing targets through closing and integrating new businesses into the platform.
- Create a consistent, repeatable approach for folding newly acquired businesses into the platform's operations and reporting.
- Modernize financial systems and controls to support scale, including rolling out a new ERP platform.
- Build reporting that gives leadership clear visibility into performance by branch and market.
- Own banking relationships and debt compliance as the business scales.
- Recruit and lead a lean finance team scaled to the business.
- Manage external counsel on legal and contractual matters.
- Partner with operating leaders across both lines of business to drive pricing and margin improvement.
- Oversee core accounting operations, including close, tax, and audit, ensuring GAAP compliance throughout.
Qualifications
- Extensive senior finance and accounting leadership experience (15+ years), with a strong controllership foundation (CPA preferred).
- Current CFO or a strong, “ready” step-up candidate.
- Private equity-backed company experience, ideally within an actively acquisitive platform. Comfortable communicating with and presenting to investors and Boards.
- Demonstrated M&A experience, having led multiple transactions from sourcing through close and integration.
- A demonstrated builder who has stood up finance functions and teams from scratch in a fast-scaling, multi-location services business.
- Business services, professional services, consumer/home services, or field/route-based services experience preferred. Comfortable with both white-collar and blue-collar stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing bank relationships and operating within a leveraged capital structure.
- Experience implementing new financial systems and building out reporting/analytics capabilities.
- Entrepreneurial and hands-on, comfortable building within a lean team.
- Willing to be onsite in Houston 3+ days/week.
