The Grants Manager will provide direction and oversight for the Grants division and will manage staff. The position will lead the development of proposals for federal/state grants, develop and conduct project and partner calls, and oversee grant administration and coordination. The position will manage and track the grant proposal process and provide regular updates to leadership. The position will include preparation, writing, and editing grant proposal submissions in accordance with grant, industry, and/or agency requirements.
A key responsibility of this position is to lead grant application development and completion, ensuring deadlines are met. This will require accurate tracking of key steps, including associated time frames and both internal and external deadlines. This position will be called upon to provide summary updates on the agency grant. Lead the development of grant proposals to federal, state, foundations, and other grant-awarding organizations.
- Management and oversight of the Grants team.
- Assemble and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.
- Maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports.
- Provide direction to manage multiple projects moving promptly, meet deadlines and manage multiple proposals.
- Act as the program manager and coordinate all grant submissions.
- Ensure preparation and submission of grants reimbursement packages, Drawdown, Journal Entries, etc.
- Leads special projects and must be willing to perform other grant-related duties as assigned and deemed necessary by management.
- Coordinates with federal and state governments, County Precincts, other divisions, and responds to requests for information.
- Ensure creation and maintenance of various in-house spreadsheets and other grant tracking tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: Five (5) years of professional experience with grants and three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge: The principles and practices of grant administration and grant writing skills.
- Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn various grant submittal interfaces and websites. Ability to plan and organize work, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external sources and keep management informed. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Ability to analyze and interpret data for accuracy and be detail-oriented. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Knowledge of federal and state grants related to public infrastructure (roads, drainage, technology, parks, safety, etc.).
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Full-Time | Regular | 40 hours per week.
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload.
Salary
:
Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods.
- Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting, or operations command center environment, but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).
- Position requires bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs., as well as frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.
