OverviewThe Psychology Division in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is recruiting a Pediatric Psychologist dedicated to oncology/hematology to join our Psychology Division. The psychologist will join a team of pediatric psychologists providing evaluation and intervention services to children in both the inpatient and outpatient setting at Texas Children’s Hospital Houston Medical Center Campus. Consultations with multidisciplinary medical providers and learners will be expected.
Opportunities for training, innovation, program development, and clinical research are built into this position.
- Provide evaluation and intervention services for children and adolescents presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Consult with referring medical subspecialty partners including Gastroenterology, Neurology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, and Hematology/Oncology.
- Address common reasons for referral such as adjustment to chronic condition/medical diagnosis, adherence/self-management behavior, and management of pain and other physical symptoms to promote function.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical providers and learners to deliver comprehensive care.
- Participate in teaching and supervision of psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows as part of BCM’s APA‑approved internship program.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including independent and collaborative research, through partnership with other Division members and subspecialty partners.
- A doctorate in clinical, counseling, or school psychology with a specialization in child clinical psychology.
- Completed both an APA‑accredited psychology internship and postdoctoral training in child clinical psychology.
- Licensure or license‑eligibility in Texas.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and patient care in a pediatric setting.
