Position Overview: Join a team of dedicated professionals who save lives by collecting blood and blood products. Travel site‑to‑site across the Greater Gulf Coast area and use your phlebotomy skills to provide exceptional donor experiences while driving a company vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the department vehicle to transport staff and equipment to mobile donor sites following the Blood Center’s Vehicle Loss Control Committee guidelines.
• Perform pre‑departure and post‑draw checks of vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with loading, unloading, set‑up and tear‑down of equipment at donor sites.
• Conduct pre‑donation screening, venipuncture, and post‑venipuncture care according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Complete donor records accurately and promptly.
• Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a professional, friendly demeanor.
• Identify and report non‑routine situations that arise during phlebotomy procedures.
• Attend ongoing education and training in phlebotomy procedures, instruments, and equipment.
• Support workflow by assisting colleagues as needed.
• Actively recruit donors at donor sites.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least six months of phlebotomy experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with one or more years of experience and a clean driving record.
• Ability to establish rapport with donors and provide high‑level customer service.
• Professional, polite interaction with colleagues and donors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certification in phlebotomy.
• EMT certification or related field licenses.
• Valid CDL.

Physical Demands: Tasks frequently require standing, walking, manual handling, reaching, talking, hearing, occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 10 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Responsibilities include familiarization with team lift requirements and vision abilities such as color and close vision.

Work Environment: Exposure to mechanical parts, outdoor weather, chemicals, blood, biohazardous materials, electrical shock risk, wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Inherent potential for skin or mucous membrane contact with blood and associated health risks.
