Job SummaryAssesses patients, develops and initiates treatment plans based on evaluation results. Provides direct patient care, documents findings, progress and instructions. Supports Level II & III PTs and leadership with program development, training students, interns, and staff. Oversees patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
Job Description ScheduleMonday – Friday
Minimum Qualifications- Education:
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university‑based Physical Therapy program. - Licenses/Certifications:
Current or temporary license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or Physical Therapy Compact Commission;
Current certification in Basic Life Support.
- Education:
Doctoral degree with residency/fellowship, OR licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis. - Licenses/Certifications:
Current license to practice Physical Therapy – Texas Board or Physical Therapy Compact.
- Occasional/frequent pushing and lifting 75‑100 pounds; carrying up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking, stooping, squatting.
- Fine hand dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, ability to receive oral and written communication, and to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers, and equipment, recognize alphanumeric characters, distinguish colors, and observe physical characteristics.
- Assume responsibility in patient care with comprehensive evaluation and written plan of care.
- Implement physical therapy treatment program, provide basic PT treatments, ensure competency of assistants and technicians.
- Monitor progress, adjust goals, plan, or program as indicated; motivate and instruct patients/caregivers.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies.
- Present relevant special topics at clinic meetings and conferences as delegated.
- Manage time effectively and complete documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
- Promote professional growth, meet mandatory/continuing education requirements, support department goals, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate commitment to compassionate personalized experiences, embodying Memorial Hermann’s service standards.
