Multiple postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Xi Chen at the Department of Experimental Therapeutics and the James P. Allison Institute at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The Chen laboratory studies how cancer and its immune microenvironment sense and respond to stresses and therapeutic insults to evade immune surveillance and develop drug resistance. We specialize in cancer immunology, ER stress, innate immunity, cancer biology, biochemistry, transgenic and preclinical animal models, and translational research.
Responsibilities- Conduct experiments
- Perform data analysis
- Prepare manuscripts
- Attend lab meetings, journal clubs, and research seminars
- Merge mechanistic insights with translational objectives of experimental therapeutics and stratifications of genetic biomarkers to address unmet clinical needs in cancer therapy
- Train, learn, and study design, data analysis, and manuscript writing
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Qualifications- PhD in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, or a related field.
- Strong background and working knowledge in immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and cancer biology.
- Expertise in flow cytometry, biochemistry, and animal models is strongly preferred.
- A strong sense of curiosity and passion for science.
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. Offsite work arrangements are subject to approval and may be modified or revoked at any time based on business needs, performance considerations, or regulatory requirements.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
