Memorial Hermann Health System invites applications for the position of Practitioner, Clinical Education & Professional Development Nursing in the Teaching Medicine department at the Texas Medical Center.
Job SummaryPosition responsible for executing educational experiences that promote competent and quality patient care. Supports clinical employees in acquiring knowledge and skills, professional development, and typically reports to the campus Manager or Director of Clinical Education and Professional Development.

Shifts:
Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)
- Two (2) years of nursing experience (required)
- One (1) year education related experience (preferred)
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Performs competency management job functions including needs assessment, gap analysis and monitoring of compliance.
- Develops and disseminates fundamental educational content/programs utilizing various learning methods/domains.
- Applies Nursing Professional Development (NPD) scope and standards into practice.
- Participates in interprofessional collaboration with learners and other stakeholders utilizing effective communication.
- Demonstrates awareness and understanding of Evidence Based Projects (EBPs)/research/quality initiatives.
- Coaches and provides feedback to preceptors and orientees and assesses orientation progress.
- Monitors the internal and external environments for opportunities and challenges that may affect professional practice gaps.
- Facilitates learning, change and professional role competence and growth.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
