General Summary

The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and enforcement of workplace safety programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and productive environment for all employees. This role works closely with the HSE Manager and staff to identify hazards, reduce risks, and promote a strong safety culture.

Education, Experience & Certifications
  • High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in safety coordination, OSHA compliance, or related field (industry-specific experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train others and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, incident tracking systems, etc.).
  • Ability to travel to jobsites as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with creating, updating, and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and jobsite walk-throughs to identify potential hazards.
  • Coordinate and track employee safety training, certifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, and required regulatory records.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and new-hire orientations.
  • Support incident trend analysis and work with leadership to improve safety performance.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and verify that equipment and tools meet safety standards.
  • Assist in emergency response planning, drills, and communication.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors regarding safety practices and regulatory compliance.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, or climb for extended periods during inspections.
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs., depending on jobsite needs.
  • Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and in varying environmental conditions.
