Radiology Technician – CHI/Baylor St. Luke’s

Operates diagnostic imaging equipment under the direction of the Medical Director. Provides comprehensive patient care – orientation, pre‑ and post‑procedure instructions, and support for IV, labs, and urgent requests. Conducts portable examinations at the bedside when needed, and participates in urgent, emergent, and OR procedure imaging. Performs quality assurance, maintenance checks, PACS QA, and supplies inventory to ensure accurate, safe, and timely radiographic services.

• Complete diagnostic imaging tests on patients per departmental protocols and physician orders.
• Prepare and maintain imaging equipment, perform periodic QA, and document logs.
• Problem‑solve equipment failures and notify lead technologist.
• Ensure daily equipment and room maintenance, infection control, and special precautions.
• Maintain equipment logs, clinical supply inventories, and PACS quality checks.
• Assist in urgent, emergent, routine, and non‑routine patient testing, including OR procedures.
• Demonstrate competency in PACS processes and daily QA procedures.
• Communicate with nursing, physicians, lab staff, and other diagnostic areas to facilitate smooth patient flow.
• Perform portable examinations, patient scheduling assistance, and bedside care as required.
• Orient and instruct patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring they understand test purpose and obtain consent.
• Verify physician orders, indicator consistency, and document findings accurately in RIS for billing.

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – must remain current.
• Certified by the State of Texas – MRT, must remain current.
• BLS certification required.

• One (1) year of Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.

Location:

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Texas Medical Center, Houston, TX.
Pay Range: $28.10 – $41.80 per hour. Eligible for a $10,000 sign‑on bonus (terms and conditions apply).
Travel is not required for this position.
