The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPS) at the University of Houston seeks highly qualified applicants from all levels, from Assistant to Full Professor, for a full-time, state-funded tenure-track faculty position in Pharmaceutics. Outstanding applicants with cutting-edge and cross-disciplinary research programs in Pharmaceutics broadly defined to include pharmacokinetics, disposition, formulation and delivery of small molecules and biologics such as protein drugs, RNA and other nucleic acid therapeutics and related large molecular drugs, as well as toxicology, are strongly encouraged to apply.

In anticipation of the start of Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas in 2026 ($3 billion over 10 years), this opening will represent a great opportunity for applicants with strong background in blood-brain barrier drug disposition, pharmacokinetics and delivery. Furthermore, applicants with strong background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computation modeling and their application in pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical sciences are particularly encouraged to apply.

PPS is in Health Building 2, a 300,000-square-foot state-of-the-art research facility on the University of Houston Campus. Research programs are supported with exceptional laboratory space, updated cutting-edge core research facilities including a 600 MHz Jeol NMR and high-end mass spectrophotometers. The research strengths of the Department's Pharmaceutics area include pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, PK/PD modeling, drug delivery, and formulations for translational research. Adjacent research areas include cancer research, cardiovascular research, muscle physiology, and neuroscience. However, candidates with interest in other therapeutic areas should also apply.
