Position Summary and Responsibilities
Performs a tasks in support of the daily workflow of the pharmacy to include distribution of medications in compliance with state and federal laws and in accordance with CSH policies and procedures. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, technicians are accountable for preparing and dispensing prescribed medications, performing compounding of intravenous medications, assisting in managing inventory, performing charging and crediting functions, and performing routine clerical/administrative tasks.
Incumbents are also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, using aseptic technique, handling controlled substances, completing educational modules, attending staff meetings, and staying abreast of policy changes and The Joint Commission requirements.
- Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
- Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of day-to-day operations of the department.
- Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels.
- Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
- Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate documentation.
- Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation, including all regulatory and compliance requirements.
This may include preparation and handling of hazardous/chemotherapy medication if applicable. - Performs related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing.
- 6 months experience compounding of IV medication.

Pay Range$20.46 - $28.90 per hour.
