• Provideassistanceduringlocaldonoridentification,stabilizationandmanagementoforgan/tissue donors.
• Providesafeandtimelytransferofblood,tissuetypingmaterials,organs,andtissuestotheappropriatefacility.
• Coordinatestheorganrecoveryprocessintheoperatingroom.
  
  Providing perfusion,preservation,packaging,anddistributionofrecoveredorgans/tissuesfortransplantationand/or research.
• Assistwiththeanatomicaldissectionandplacementofkidneysonapreservationpumpandisresponsibleformonitoringkidneyfunctionduringperfusion.
• Responsiblefordeliveryofkidneysonthepreservationpumptothereceivingtransplantcenterensuringproperverificationofdonorinformationandallocation.
• Receiveandscreenreferredorganoffersfromdistantorganprocurementagenciesandprovideaccuratecommunicationofinformationtolocaltransplantcenters.
  
  Coordinatesandparticipateswithrecoveryteamsinthedistantacquisitionoforgans/tissues.
• Responsibleforthemaintenanceofprocurementequipment,recovery supplies,andprocurementsupplyroomtoensureoptionalefficiency.

Doyouhavetheeducationandexperiencetobea Donation Recovery Specialist ?

• Completionofa Certified Scrub Technologist (CST)
  Certified First Assist (CFA),orotheralliedhealthtrainingprogram,orequivalentexperience.
• Musthaveandmaintaintheir Texasand Nationallicensureand /orcertificationifapplicable.
• Fouryearsofexperienceinanacutecarehospital,pre-hospitalemergencycaresetting,ororganprocurementorganizationpreferred.
• Musthaveknowledgeofhumananatomy&medical terminology.
