Job Summary

The Bartender is responsible for providing friendly, professional, and efficient beverage service while creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for hotel guests. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintains a clean and organized bar area, handles guest transactions, and follows all applicable alcohol service, health, and safety regulations. In addition, this individual shall be well-versed in hotel-brand standards, guest expectations, beverage offerings, and the local area.

This position reports to the General Manager.

Your day-to-day

Essential Functions

Warmly and professionally welcome guests to the bar and lounge area.
Consistently provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
Take beverage and food orders accurately and enter orders into the appropriate point-of-sale system.
Maintain proper bar set-up before, during, and after each shift.
Ensure the bar, lounge, workstations, equipment, glassware, and surrounding areas remain clean and organized.
Replenish beverages, garnishes, glassware, supplies, and other bar items as needed.
Properly store, label, date, and rotate food and beverage products.
Follow all applicable alcohol service laws, policies, and procedures.
Verify guest identification when required and responsibly monitor alcohol consumption.
Process guest checks, cash, credit cards, room charges, and other forms of payment accurately.
Complete opening and closing duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Engage with guests in a courteous and helpful manner, addressing questions and providing recommendations when appropriate.
Create a welcoming and enjoyable environment while maintaining professional boundaries and service standards.
Graciously respond to guest concerns or requests. If necessary, report the situation to the manager.
Maintain knowledge of the bar menu, cocktails, beer, wine, food selections, specials, and hotel offerings.
Monitor beverage quality and presentation to ensure all items meet established standards.
Follow proper alcohol handling, food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
Regularly clean and sanitize bar equipment, utensils, glassware, surfaces, and service areas.
Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock items or supply needs to management.
Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing beverage and bar supplies.
