Area Human Resources Manager at Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown and Hyatt Centric the Woodlands

Overview

Join our Human Resources team as an Area HR Manager. This HR Generalist role focuses initially on Learning & Development and Training, while also supporting compliance, employee experience, and engagement, recruitment and retention, benefits administration, and payroll. You will operate autonomously, ensuring alignment with the HR department’s strategic objectives and broader organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development:
    Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs; facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance employee skills and support career growth; support new hire onboarding and compliance and safety training.
  • Employee Experience and Engagement:
    Lead efforts to enhance employee experience through regular 30‑, 60‑, and 90‑day check‑in conversations, address employee concerns, foster a positive workplace culture, and promote engagement initiatives.
  • HR Administration:
    Maintain and update HR records and databases; ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; contribute to smooth operation of the HR office.
  • Community Relations:
    Maintain and update relationships with community stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or certification in Human Resources preferred.
  • Training experience preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, written, and oral communication skills.
  • High energy, creativity, independent thinking, self‑motivated and results‑driven, able to influence hiring managers and candidates.
  • Consistent delivery of high‑level customer service.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Team orientation and building collaborative internal and external relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to commute between both hotels.
  • Bi‑lingual English/Spanish preferred.
