Responsibilities
  • Partner with leaders to provide HR leadership and execution in talent management, employee relations, performance & development coaching, compensation, labor relations, HR compliance and special projects.
  • Coordinate with other team members, leads, and execute change initiatives across business related to talent and HR strategy.
  • Serve as trusted advisor, provide comprehensive HR support and guidance, and help business understand goals and challenges.
  • Analyze and manage HR data & metrics to identify trends and provide insights.
  • Lead and engage employees in evaluating the employee relations climate and implement solutions to issues.
  • Lead associate onboarding process, ensuring effective execution by managers.
  • Participate in annual programs for assigned client groups: performance appraisal, salary review, compensation plans, incentive bonuses, talent review, engagement survey, etc.
  • In collaboration with L&D COE team, develop and deliver talent development & training assessments.
  • Counsel employees & managers on career planning, conflict resolution, work related challenges.
  • Conduct exit interviews, investigations, and work with ER COE on escalated case management.
  • Advise on performance management, corrective counseling, training, development, discipline techniques.
  • Review documentation for consistency with Airgas policies.
  • Monitor and verify company’s employment standards and practices; continuously improve organizational efficiency.
  • Manage new hire orientation program; follow up with managers for training track.
  • Attend unemployment hearings; manage unemployment claims with third‑party administrator.
  • Partner with HR COEs and HR Operations to ensure accurate processing of new hires, terminations, personnel changes.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of overall HR strategy; act as change agent.
  • Recommend and implement revisions to policies & programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all state & federal statutes, laws & regulations.
  • Assist with HRIS data integrity, report generation, talent management & total rewards processes.
  • Participate in HR programs such as diversity & inclusion initiatives, budget development, tuition assistance, HR KPIs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related HR experience (compensation reviews, employer relations, performance management, and HR annual processes).
  • High level analytical skills; experience with Excel/Google Sheets (V‑lookups, pivot tables).
Preferred Qualifications
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR).
  • Experience as Generalist, Business Partner or similar titles.
  • Experience managing multi‑site personnel across states.
  • Experience with plant and/or transportation population.
  • Project management experience within an HR team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of HR principles, employment laws & regulations; lead ER investigations.
  • Personable, professional, responsive, credible, and able to drive value.
  • Proficiency in HRIS & Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Advanced Excel & Google Sheets skills.
  • Excellent organizational, written & oral communication, listening & presentation skills.
Physical Demands
  • Stationary for extended periods; occasional office traverse; frequent use of computer & telephone. Reasonable accommodations available.
Work Environment
  • Normal office environment; occasional overnight travel up to 20%.
