Position Summary
Oxy Chem is a growing, action‑oriented, safety‑driven chemical manufacturing company that values precision, ethics, and environmental stewardship. We are seeking an experienced Time Tracking Specialist to join our Payroll Operations group in Houston, TX and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for more than 3,000 employees across multiple states. The role administers and monitors all Workday Time Tracking, serves as a subject‑matter expert, guides managers and employees, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams for seamless payroll operations.
EssentialJob Duties
- Deliver service quality, customer orientation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement of payroll operation processes.
- Process biweekly payroll for 3,000+ employees, including Time Tracking, pay adjustments, special payments, and employee‑initiated changes.
- Administer and monitor Workday Time Tracking for a large hourly employee population across multiple U.S. states and regions.
- Validate time entries, schedules, and shift differentials to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Troubleshoot time‑tracking issues and resolve discrepancies promptly to avoid payroll delays.
- Collaborate with Payroll, HR, and Operations teams to integrate time data for payroll processing.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on time‑tracking procedures, system navigation, and policy compliance.
- Generate and analyze time‑tracking reports to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist with system testing, configuration updates, and enhancements related to Workday Time Tracking.
- Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years payroll or time‑tracking administration experience.
- Proficiency in Workday or related HCM and Time Tracking modules; strong reporting and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of U.S. labor laws, overtime rules, and multi‑state compliance requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and strong communication skills.
- General knowledge of payroll principles, including overtime and tax withholding calculations.
- Excellent organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and mathematical abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to meeting strict daily deadlines and delivering high‑quality results.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Experience with the Workday time‑tracking system.
