Clayton Services is searching for an HR Generalist to join a thriving company in North Houston. The HR Generalist will be responsible for payroll processing, recruiting, onboarding, employee records, and supporting day-to-day human resources functions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on payroll experience along with proven experience recruiting and interviewing candidates.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $65,000 - $80,000/year (Salary, Exempt)

HR Generalist Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and timely while maintaining appropriate payroll documentation and records.
- Support the full recruiting process, including reviewing resumes, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating the hiring process.
- Prepare new hire documentation and coordinate onboarding and orientation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and HR records.
- Assist employees and management with payroll, HR policies, procedures, and general HR-related questions.
- Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with maintaining and updating HR policies, procedures, forms, and internal documentation.
- Maintain employee and position-related documentation to ensure records remain accurate and current.
- Prepare HR and payroll reports as needed.
- Assist with employee training and development initiatives.
- Provide general HR support to management and employees.
- Perform additional HR and administrative responsibilities as needed.

- Strong hands-on knowledge of payroll processing and payroll procedures.
- Strong recruiting and interviewing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
HR Generalist Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on payroll experience required.
- Previous recruiting and interviewing experience required.
- Previous human resources experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
