PositionSummary
The Full Stack Word Press Developer role combines strong technical expertise with creative design sensibility. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining intuitive, responsive, and high‑performance websites aligned with Oceaneering’s corporate identity guidelines. The developer will take ownership of projects end‑to‑end – from wireframes to deployment, ensuring quality, scalability, and alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working on front‑end UX/UI design and back‑end Word Press/PHP development, with a keen eye for detail, SEO optimization, and performance best practices.
Location- Hybrid environment, both virtually and in office (Houston, Texas) when required.
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate meetings with co‑workers in other time zones around the world.
- Research, gather, and analyze project requirements to deliver effective solutions.
- Create technical documentation, design templates, style guides, and development standards.
- Develop wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and sitemaps to communicate design concepts.
- Build custom Word Press themes and plugins from scratch; modify existing ones for new requirements.
- Maintain and administer Word Press installations, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
- Create responsive, mobile‑first layouts using HTML5, CSS3, and frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
- Utilize JavaScript and frameworks (e.g., jQuery) to enhance interactivity and user experience.
- Integrate with APIs and third‑party services as needed.
- Optimize sites for SEO, accessibility, and loading speed; implement Google Tag Manager, Analytics, and other tracking tools.
- Test and troubleshoot across browsers, devices, and operating systems.
- Implement and monitor site performance benchmarking tests.
- Build reusable code and maintain libraries for future efficiency.
- Collaborate with designers, animators, and content creators to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Mentor junior developers and share best practices to elevate team capabilities.
- Identify and contribute to process improvements for development workflows.
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of competence in Computer Science/Web Programming.
- 6+ years’ experience in web development, with at least 4 years in Word Press/PHP.
- 4+ years’ experience with CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind) and responsive design.
- Expertise in Word Press CMS, including API usage, plugin functionality, custom theme development, and advanced customization.
- Strong understanding of UX principles, wire framing, and prototyping.
- Skilled in responsive and parallax website design principles, and implementation.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Adobe XD, or Figma.
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
