SQL Database Administrator with deep expertise in Azure Postgre

SQL PaaS, replication, and Row-Level Security (RLS). This position plays a critical role in designing, maintaining, and securing our enterprise data infrastructure that powers mission-critical applications, including Manage

IT TM .

Key Responsibilities |

• Database Design & Modeling
  • Design and optimize relational database schemas, tables, indexes, and constraints for performance and scalability.
  • Work with developers and product teams to implement efficient data structures that align with business requirements.
• Manage Azure Postgre
  
  SQL instances, including provisioning, configuration, backup, patching, and monitoring.
• Optimize performance and availability of Azure Postgre
  
  SQL environments.
• Replication & High Availability
  • Architect, implement, and maintain Postgre
    
    SQL replication strategies (e.g., logical replication, read replicas, failover solutions).
  • Ensure database environments meet RTO/RPO and uptime requirements.
• Security & Compliance
  • Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) and role-based access controls.
  • Ensure databases follow best practices for encryption, authentication, and auditing.
  • Partner with the security team to support State
    
    RAMP and NIST 800-53 compliance initiatives.
• Monitoring & Maintenance
  • Conduct regular health checks, monitor performance metrics, and troubleshoot database performance issues.
  • Automate maintenance tasks such as vacuuming, indexing, partitioning, and alerting.
  • Manage and optimize backup/restore processes.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops, application teams, and other DBAs for CI/CD and deployment support.
• Maintain documentation for database processes, standards, and configurations.

Required Qualifications |

• 5+ years of experience as a Postgre
  
  SQL DBA, with at least 2 years in Azure Postgre
  
  SQL PaaS
• Strong expertise in:
  • Postgre
    
    SQL replication strategies
  • Row-Level Security (RLS)
  • Performance tuning and indexing
• Strong SQL and PL/pgSQL development skills
• Deep understanding of database security, access control, and audit logging
• Proficient in scripting for automation (e.g., Bash, Power Shell, or Python)

Preferred Qualifications |

• Experience with high-availability Postgre
  
  SQL architectures on Azure
• Familiarity with pg Admin, Azure CLI, Terraform, or other IaC tools
• Knowledge of data warehousing, reporting, or analytical database use cases
• Experience in agile or Dev Sec Ops  environments

• Analytical Thinking – Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
