[Starting / Initial] Base Salary Pay Range: $54,000 - $90,000. Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by a variety of factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.

• Responsible for all network field activity on Cogent network.
• Installation of Network Elements within Cogent Communications locations (Data centers, POPs, Hubs).
• Turn‑up and test new customer circuits at Cogent Data Centers, carrier‑neutral datacenters, and multitenant office buildings, document and communicate changes.
• Maintain the Cogent fiber network (locates, maintenance, splicing, emergency restoration, transmission equipment maintenance).
• Maintain Cogent Data Centers (facility maintenance, compliance, equipment maintenance).
• Manage contractors and vendors.
• Work with Network Planning and Customer Service Delivery to provide field perspective to network deployment and expertise in deployments.
• Maintain proficiency within the telecommunications infrastructure, fiber, CWDM and DWDM technologies.
• Work with AC and DC power systems.

• Travel 30%, 5+ years of experience on telecommunication networks.
• 1+ years of field experience in DWDM and/or IP networks.
• Experience with telecommunications test equipment: optical power meters (OPM–OLS), OTDR, OSA, Ethernet/IP testers; interpretation of test results.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• High‑energy individual with interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate peers, and drive projects to completion.

• Project Management experience.
• Experience with daily operations of a datacenter (diesel generator, UPS, HVAC).
• Experience maintaining a fiber network.
