We are looking for a Word Press Engineer with strong PHP expertise who can design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance Word Press solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in custom theme and plugin development, performance optimization, and integration with third‑party systems while adhering to modern development and security best practices.
Key Responsibilities Word Press & PHP Development- Design, develop, and maintain custom Word Press themes and plugins using PHP.
- Build reusable, well‑structured, and maintainable code following Word Press coding standards.
- Customize Word Press core functionality using hooks, filters, and REST APIs
. - Implement Gutenberg blocks and modern Word Press features where required.
- Convert UI/UX designs (Figma, Adobe XD, PSD) into responsive Word Press experiences.
- Optimize Word Press sites for performance, SEO, and Core Web Vitals
. - Implement caching, CDN, image optimization, and database optimization strategies.
- Apply Word Press security best practices, including vulnerability mitigation and role‑based access control.
- Integrate Word Press with third‑party services such as CRM, payment gateways, analytics tools, and marketing platforms.
- Build and consume APIs (REST / JSON) for headless or hybrid Word Press implementations.
- Manage content workflows, custom post types, taxonomies, and advanced custom fields.
- Work with Git‑based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Handle deployments, backups, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
- Debug production issues and provide long‑term support.
- Deep experience with Word Press core, themes, plugins, and hooks
. - Solid understanding of MySQL / MariaDB
. - Experience with REST APIs and JSON
. - Familiarity with SEO best practices and performance optimization.
- Git (Git Hub / Git Lab / Bitbucket)
- Composer (good to have)
- Experience with hosting platforms (AWS, Azure, shared hosting, or managed WP hosting)
- Experience with Woo Commerce and custom e‑commerce workflows.
- Knowledge of headless Word Press (React / Next.js frontend).
- Exposure to ACF, WPML, Polylang
, or multi‑site setups. - Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) standards.
- Familiarity with security tools and vulnerability scanning.
