Position Summary
The Business Intelligence – Machine Learning will design, build, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to solve real-world business challenges. This role blends data science, software development, and business acumen to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support innovation and enhance decision‑making across the organization.
Location: Houston TX (hybrid)
- Assist in the design and development of basic machine learning models, algorithms, and data pipelines under guidance from senior team members.
- Support the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports that use predictive analytics and ML outputs.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand business needs and contribute to identifying areas where ML can add value.
- Work with datasets to perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering.
- Help train and evaluate machine learning models, documenting results and sharing insights with stakeholders.
- Support the maintenance of data pipelines to ensure smooth integration of ML outputs with existing systems.
- Assist in monitoring model performance and updating models when necessary.
- Follow data security and privacy standards in all tasks.
- Contribute to the development of documentation and knowledge‑sharing materials to support model transparency and reproducibility across teams.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to propose innovative data‑driven solutions aligned with business goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven mindset.
- Proficiency in Python or R and ML libraries (e.g., Scikit‑learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
- Solid understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning, classification, and regression.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for ML workflows.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Team‑oriented with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a data science, ML, or analytics role (internships or academic projects acceptable).
- Experience with data preprocessing, feature selection, and statistical modeling.
- Familiarity with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Big Query) is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
