Production Operations Lead (Contract)

Seeking a hands‑on Production Operations Lead to take full ownership of production delivery, release management, and operational stability across Windows, IIS, and Azure‑based environments.

This high‑impact contract role is designed for a senior‑level engineer who thrives working independently, drives modernization initiatives, and ensures production reliability across hybrid infrastructure, including Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server, and Azure AKS.

The ideal candidate is a technical leader who owns outcomes, bridges Dev Ops and business needs, and ensures operational excellence in mission‑critical production systems.

• Lead end‑to‑end release and deployment for .NET/IIS‑based applications
• Manage and orchestrate deployments across Windows Server, Azure, and AKS environments
• Optimize and maintain Azure Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines, enforcing best practices across build, test, deploy, and monitoring stages
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and ARM Templates
• Ensure high availability, performance, and stability of IIS web applications and related services
• Act as the incident commander for production issues, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and driving preventive actions
• Partner closely with Dev Ops, Infrastructure, and DBA teams to ensure seamless delivery and overall environment health
• Drive modernization and operational readiness initiatives across production environments

• 8+ years of experience in Production Operations, Dev Ops, or Release Management within Microsoft‑centric environments
• Strong hands‑on experience with Windows Server, IIS, Azure, SQL Server, and AKS
• Proficiency with Azure Dev Ops, Terraform, ARM Templates, and Power Shell
• Deep understanding of .NET application deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and hybrid infrastructure operations
• Proven ability to work independently and take full technical ownership
• Strong communicator capable of engaging both technical teams and business stakeholders, including senior leadership
• Self‑driven, proactive, and solution‑oriented mindset
