As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology organization, you will be at the forefront of innovation, applying your skills to modernize complex systems. You will have the opportunity to promote operational excellence and improve platform resiliency by developing robust automated solutions and collaborating with product development teams.

• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Writes high‑quality, maintainable, and well‑tested software to develop reliable and repeatable solutions to complex problems
• Collaborates with product development teams to design, implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, scalable, and efficient software delivery
• Partners with product development teams to capture and define meaningful service level indicators (SLIs) and service level objectives (SLOs)
• Develops and maintains monitoring, alerting, and tracing systems that provide comprehensive visibility into system health and performance
• Contributes to design reviews to evaluate and strengthen architectural resilience, fault tolerance and scalability
• Upholds incident response management best practices, champion blameless postmortems and continuous improvements
• Debugs, tracks, and resolves complex technical issues to maintain system integrity and performance
• Champions and drives the adoption of reliability and resiliency best practices

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Hands‑on experience building production‑grade software in at least one programming language such as Java or Python
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and DNS
• In‑depth knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell script, including performance tuning, process and memory management, and file system operations
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of distributed systems, and reliability patterns for achieving redundancy, fault tolerance, and graceful degradation
• Experience in analyzing, troubleshooting and supporting large‑scale systems
• Hands‑on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining relational database using SQL or experience with No
  
  SQL technology such as MongoDB
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Proficient knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or GCP, including deployment, management, and optimization of cloud‑based applications

• Experience in building, supporting and troubleshooting JVM based applications, including experience with tools such as JConsole, or VisualVM
• Demonstrated experience with use and support of SQL and in‑memory database technologies
• Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern tools such as Git Hub Actions, or Git Lab CI/CD
• Proficient knowledge with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Open Telemetry
• Hands‑on experience containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Amazon ECS
• Demonstrated experience with performance and chaos testing tools such as Gremlin, Chaos Mesh, and Litmus Chaos
