Overview
Open Shift Architect — Houston, TX
We are seeking a client-facing Open Shift Architect to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of container platform solutions for enterprise customers. This role involves working directly with client teams to assess legacy environments, define architecture strategy, and guide the adoption of Red Hat Open Shift as the foundation for container-based application delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Design and architect end-to-end Open Shift solutions (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid)
- Lead platform installation, configuration, and tuning for performance, scalability, and security
- Conduct platform assessments, gap analysis, and develop migration strategies from legacy systems
- Integrate Open Shift with enterprise systems (e.g., identity providers, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools)
- Provide hands-on guidance during implementation and operationalization phases
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to enable cloud-native transformation
- Document architecture decisions, technical runbooks, and knowledge transfer to client teams
- Serve as a trusted advisor and technical leader to stakeholders throughout the engagement
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Open Shift (3.x and/or 4.x) architecture and operations
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, Linux (RHEL), and container runtimes (e.g., CRI-O, Docker)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments
- Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and tools (e.g., Git Ops, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Tekton, Ansible)
- Familiarity with networking, storage, security, and observability in containerized environments
- Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and optimize production Open Shift clusters
- Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills
- Red Hat certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in Open Shift, RHCA)
- Experience migrating from traditional platforms (e.g., Web Sphere, JBoss) to Open Shift
- Familiarity with Operators, Helm, and Kubernetes-native patterns
- Background in middleware, CI/CD pipeline automation, or application modernization
