Business Systems Analyst – Contract to Hire (Houston, TX)

Our Oil and Gas client is looking to add a BSA to their team! This role is contract to hire, and centrally located in Houston. The Business Systems Analyst partners with business and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technology solutions. This role leads requirements gathering, supports system design and testing, and contributes to project delivery across the SDLC within a regulated Oil & Gas environment.

• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
• Lead or support small to medium IT projects and initiatives
• Collaborate with business users, vendors, and IT teams to resolve issues and deliver solutions
• Develop process models, system documentation, and compliance artifacts
• Design and execute test plans to validate system functionality
• Analyze system issues, provide reporting, and recommend improvements
• Support application training, documentation, and on-call support
• Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements

• 5+ years experience as a Business Systems Analyst
• 3+ years experience in the Oil & Gas (pipeline/energy) industry
• Strong experience with requirements gathering and SDLC methodologies
• Working knowledge of project management practices
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• Knowledge of energy industry regulations (e.g., FERC, DOT, SOX)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• or equivalent professional experience
• Relevant certifications are a plus
