Airswift is working with one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry to find a Sourcing Specialist IV to join their team in Houston. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.
Role OverviewThe Sourcing Specialist IV will oversee Technology and Information Services (TIS) support by ensuring category goals and objectives are translated into strategies that align with both short- and long-term stakeholder and enterprise objectives. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing TIS category strategies that mitigate risk and deliver competitive advantage, particularly in relation to high-spend suppliers. The specialist will also be accountable for ongoing supplier relationship management (SRM) for priority agreements and relationships within the TIS category.
Must-Haves- University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive sourcing experience in the TIS category (Software, Hardware, and TIS services)
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in managing large-scale agreements
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage supplier relationships and performance independently.
- Postgraduate qualification or MBA
- Professional certifications such as SCMP or CPSM
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement category strategies using market intelligence, demand planning, sustainability, and total cost of ownership
- Execute sourcing strategies from RFP development to contract negotiation and execution
- Ensure effective contract implementation and utilization through metrics and reporting
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to support strategy development and contract adoption
- Influence and advocate for strategic sourcing practices across the organization
- Maintain demand profiles and analyze external market trends
- Interpret market intelligence to inform sourcing strategies and stakeholder decisions
- Develop cost models to support negotiations and identify value drivers
- Manage supplier relationships throughout the lifecycle, including performance management and value engineering
- Support contract negotiations and partner with suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Develop supply chain strategies to support business continuity and efficiency during mergers and acquisitions
- Collaborate with IT teams to address integration challenges and ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with internal teams including Legal, IT, and Business Units
- Communicate complex commercial and contractual issues effectively
- Influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities
- Work closely with Senior Specialists and Managers as needed
