Role SummaryThe Electronic Communications Archive Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing systems that capture, store, and monitor all forms of electronic business communication—email, chat, SMS, social media, and other collaboration platforms. This role ensures compliance with global regulatory obligations and supports legal, audit, and investigative data requests through secure retention, search, review, analysis, and export capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Design & Implementation- Architect, implement, and maintain secure archiving and journaling solutions for electronic communications.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (SEC, FINRA, MiFID II, etc.) and internal security standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation, scalability, and system resilience.
- Maintain data confidentiality, integrity, and security.
- Develop monitoring frameworks for system health and performance.
- Use analytics to detect anomalies, proactively troubleshoot, and drive stability.
- Gather requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver enhancements on schedule.
- Create documentation, SOPs, and transition materials for operational support teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and regulatory updates to recommend innovative solutions.
- Enhance automation, performance, and overall compliance posture.
- Work cross‑functionally with technology, compliance, legal, and business teams.
- Maintain strong communication, elevate blockers early, and drive alignment.
- Serve as SME for troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and advanced issue resolution.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to minimize business disruption.
- Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (SEC, FINRA, MiFID II).
- Hands‑on expertise with archiving platforms.
- Proficiency with monitoring and analytics tools (Splunk, Elastic).
- Scripting experience:
Power Shell, Python
, and integration with 3rd‑party connectors. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑team collaboration and technical explanation.
