Job SummaryThe Lead Applications Analyst provides leadership and direction in the design, testing and implementation of complex information systems and solutions. The role involves advanced knowledge of software applications, development environments, project scheduling, training, and project management activities, while reporting directly to the Manager and providing leadership for all levels of Application Analysts.
Minimum Qualifications- Associates degree and five (5) years of experience; or six (6) years of experience in lieu of a degree
- No licenses or certifications required
- Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in large, corporate systems development and implementation, especially in Healthcare Management Information Systems
- Experience leading projects and solving complex problems
- Experience directing other analysts and mentoring team members
- Demonstrated success in bringing tasks and projects to successful conclusion
- Exceptional communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of application support, development tools, and methodologies
- Lead and provide advanced knowledge in supporting various operating systems and software applications
- Analyse, design, build, test and implement computer programs and systems
- Apply information systems theory, processes, and methodologies to meet business objectives
- Ensure technical skills support system programs and applications that meet MH’s technical requirements
- Develop, prioritize and execute projects according to established schedules and time frames
- Maintain effective coordination on all assigned projects
- Document and report on all plans, priorities and schedules
- Inform Manager on status of all projects and assignments via weekly activity reports
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and reported regularly to management
- Translate user and departmental information systems needs into technical solutions
- Identify application development opportunities to enhance user productivity and service levels
- Design, develop, deploy and maintain technologies to satisfy user and application strategies effectively and cost efficiently
- Advocate for setting and enforcing technical development, application support and information management standards within and outside the information systems department
- Ensure standards are established and followed consistently for the benefit of the company
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and techniques in supporting applications during development projects and complex problem solving efforts
- Participate in after‑hours application support by rotating call schedule regularly
- Provide technical solutions to critical issues and alternative resolution methods for problems threatening MH’s processes and workflow
- Prepare, conduct and evaluate training sessions for staff; monitor effectiveness and modify content as necessary to ensure staff competency
- Provide courteous, polite, and friendly customer service at all times
- Acknowledge customers immediately to determine needs and assist in resolving issues or requests
- Display behavior that enhances the organization’s image through professional and courteous conduct toward all customers
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Manager
- Adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications, time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service
- Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting mandatory/continuing education requirements; serve as mentor and resource to less experienced staff

- Other duties as assigned
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills required to provide care appropriate to patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development relating to the different life cycles. Specific age groups served by this position:
