Certified Translator, Vietnamese to English

Translate Vietnamese civil, academic and legal records into English for USCIS and other US authorities, where every name, date and stamp has to be exactly right.

Certified translation is the most unforgiving work we do. A single wrong date on a birth certificate can delay a green card for months. You will translate documents that FAS certifies with a signed Certificate of Accuracy, following our style sheet for names, diacritics, stamps and handwriting.

• Translate birth, marriage and divorce certificates, household registrations, police records, diplomas and transcripts.
• Reproduce layout, stamps, seals and handwritten notes using the bracketed conventions reviewers expect.
• Apply our rules for Vietnamese name order, diacritics and date formats.
• Second-check other translators' work before it is certified.

• Excellent English and Vietnamese, native in at least one of them.
• At least 2 years of certified, legal or official-document translation.
• Experience with Vietnamese civil documents, including handwritten and older formats.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a habit of double-checking numbers and names.

• ATA certification, a court interpreter credential or equivalent.
• Experience with notarized translation for use in Vietnam.

• Regular work in your pair from enterprise, certified and AI projects.
• A clear brief on every job: glossary, style guide, reference files and a PM who answers.
• MQM feedback on your work, so you always know where you stand.
• Rates agreed up front, per word or per hour, and paid on schedule.
• Fully remote. You set your hours and your capacity.
