Locate Investigator

Position Summary:

Magna Legal Services is seeking an Investigator to join our team! As an Investigator, your job is to conduct comprehensive investigations on behalf of clients, including lawyers, corporations, insurance companies, and individuals. The primary goal is to gather accurate and timely information and evidence to help clients make informed decisions or build a legal case. This position will be primarily in the field in Houston, TX and surrounding areas.

• Uncovering important information for individuals who are missing or difficult to locate such as fugitives, debt collection, or finding loved ones for wills and estates.
• Searching public and private records.
• Conducting pretext calls (covertly finding information or confirming details of the person of interest).
• Interviewing people who know the individual of interest.
• Investigating individuals using a variety of databases and software.
• Conducting Service of Process, to include stakeouts.
• Assist field investigators with occasional case research on other, more complex investigations.

Note that while a good amount of the work will be desktop based, this job does include “boots on the ground” work, primarily within a 2 hour radius of Houston, TX with an occasional need for further travel.

• Experience:
  
  1–3 years in investigations, law enforcement, paralegal work, or a related field.
• Education:
  
  A degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Communications, or a related discipline is not required, but is preferred.
• Skills:
  
  Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a professional and detail-oriented approach.
• Other:

Compensation: USD $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
